- Limitations in managing labour, physiology of individual
contractions & new concepts for decisions in labour.
- Sexual activity in all 3 trimesters, possible risks of
sex in pregnancy & the role of sex in induction of labour at
term.
- Risk factors for shoulder dystocia, which risk factors
are linked to cases that end with litigation & techniques
to reduce risks of both shoulder dytsocia and being sued.

- Established & innovative uses of grafts in
reconstructive pelvic surgery, variety of available grafts,
physiologic & pathological incorporation of grafts &
available data supporting/contradicting use of grafts in
such surgery.
- Pathophysiology of fistulas, appropriate evaluation &
advantages and disadvantages of different repair
techniques.
- Anatomy & physiology of fecal continence mechanism,
differential diagnosis of fecal incontinence & surgical
techniques for repair.

- Highlights of new research into management of menopause,
2009 SOGC Consensus Update & emerging evidence.
- The many ways in which cancer & its treatment can impact
patients & useful strategies to address these.
- How best to communicate complex medical information to
patients, the media and to colleagues.
